ISAC Studio : A Brief History
The birth of ISAC studio was marked by the creation of MARA College Banting’s first ever nasheed group, Munawwar, at the end of 2005. ISAC Studio’s initial formation was based on the sole intention of forming a nasheed group. Several teachers played a role in discussing this issue. The general consensus was that a club focusing only on nasheed would severely limit the scope of its activities and members. Thus, the idea to fuse several branches of Islamic arts and entertainment under one roof came up. This marked the beginning of the Islamic Arts Club, encompassing nasheed, calligraphy, literature as well as other aspects of Islamic arts. ISAC, under the leadership of Mohd Rafie bin Kamaruzaman, currently still holding the post of President, began to spread its wings, with infinite support from its dedicated members
In 2006, ISAC was divided into four branches Islamic Art; Linguistics, Music, Calligraphy and Digital art. Munawwar, now categorized under the Music branch of ISAC, had become the main drive for ISAC’s activities, receiving numerous invitations to perform in and around MARA College Banting. At the same time, ISAC was also organizing computer graphic classes for both its members as well as the general public of MCB. Weekly meetings were focused on developing the role of ISAC, interspersed with Islamic poetry recitations from the Linguistic Department.
Upon graduation from the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme in MARA College Banting, ISAC began contemplate its continued development, regardless of the fact that a majority of its members would be furthering their studies overseas. Now, ISAC has representatives from more than 5 countries including Malaysia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Czech Republic, Australia, and New Zealand.
It has been our intentions to register ISAC as an official company, bringing services relating to Islamic entertainment to the Muslim communities around the globe. This includes a lifelong vision to form our own Islamic television station in Malaysia, insya-Allah.
ISAC is one of the many paths that one can take in order to gain His blessings. It does not intend to create a chasm among other Muslims on their respective paths. It serves to unite us all in the name of brotherhood, all for the sake of Allah s.w.t. Wallahualam.
