Ketika malam,
anak kecil itu merenung langit hitam ,
memandang sedalam dalam
dia mencari kejora dalam kelam,
dia mengintai purnama dalam suram,
puas dia menanti,
namun bahtera harapannya kian karam,
cahaya kejora dan purnama itu semakin tenggelam.

dia menanti lagi,
hadirnya siang ditemani mentari,
mengharapkan sang suria menghadiahkannya senyuman pagi,
puas dia menanti,
namun,si gerimis pula yang hadir mengganti,
lalu tertunduk dia,
menyeka air mata di pipi.

hari-hari yang berlalu,
dirasakan terlalu sayu,
sang angin menyapa mengirimkan khabar pilu,
di pandang kanan dan kiri,
timbunan runtuhan batu, kerikil dan kayu,
dibedil, dimamah, diratah oleh peluru.

laskar angkuh itu tidak punya rasa malu,
rumah, masjid, sekolah diceroboh,
nyawa tidak pernah puas-puas diburu,
anak-anak terkulai layu dalam pelukan ibu,
bergelimpangan tubuh terkujur kaku.

ada tangisan, tak siapa dengari,
ada rintihan , hanya dipandang sepi,
ada kesakitan, tiada siapa peduli,
ada saudara , kanan dan kiri,
yang punya hati, tapi mati,
yang punya telinga, tapi tuli,
yang punya mata, tapi hanya mampu menyaksi,
mungkar yang beraja di sana dan sini,
bagai tiada nuraga nun di hati.

tiada lagi kedengaran kicauan burung,
bumi disimbah darah, langit semakin mendung,
kilat dan guruh sabung menyabung,
palestin terus menangis dan berkabung,
tiada daya lagi untuk berselindung.

wahai INSAN,
sampai bilakah mereka harus membendung?
derita dunia yang tiada tertanggung.

wahai INSAN,
sampai bilakah kita harus duduk termenung?
bagai menanti kesudahan yang tiada berkunjung.

wahai INSAN,
sungguh, mereka perlukan kita,
untuk terus menyokong dan menyokong,
dalam pertempuran syahid yang agung,
keramat INTIFADA terus dilaung,
biar terpaksa merangkak dalam sempitnya lorong,
demi meraih syurga yang terulung.

At two,
He had no clue
When all he could do
Was eat and poo

At seven

he knew about heaven

And  was terrified of hell

Before dawn he was awake

Excited to the brim

Eating according to whim

A mission of deprivation

He was about to undertake

A test of strength, a test of will

Up until lunch was served on a plate

At nine

He was doing fine

Not yet thirty, but close

“If it weren’t for asthma”,

He’d get up and boast

Yet he was still a child

Mindless and wild…

At sixteen

There were no excuses

Yet many things had changed

No longer was there a physical burden

As challenges came from a new direction

The eyes began to wander

The mind driven asunder

Focus diverted from the plan

As youth threatened to derail

The true essence of Ramadhan

Today he turns twenty two,

Challenges that lay, again differ

But the heart of it all remains the same

In the best of months he hopes and prays

That the nights are filled with tears

Not of sorrow, but regret

Of the past mistakes, he cannot forget

Our pens write up
To the best of efforts
As we seek to spread
The joy of His words

As we bring you song
We bring you soul
With an Islamic theme
That captivates all

So wipe that frown of your face
Sit back and enjoy
But remember you must
Of the boundaries in place

The art that decorates
Only seeks to remind
Of Him that created
The whole of mankind

A Test?

I welcome you,
You, you and you
To this period of intensity
Stressful to most
Borderline insanity

It is but a test
Designed to gauge
To differentiate the best
From the lagging rest
A test that will determine
Our fate in the coming years
Whether we jump for joy
Or end up in tears

It is in this time of need
That we often feel
The stress of it all
Too heavy to bear

When hope seems to fade
And voices start to invade
We finally turn to the One
Who was there all along

Lest we forget
His presence is near
A timely reminder
For those who fear

In times of need
We look to none but him
Yet when the wave subsides
What of our faith?
What of our faith?
